The old saying in business = differentiate or die. 90% of humans are mimetic, which is why the power law is truly a law (not chance, but probabilities) of such unrivalled leverage. It is literally baked-in. And staying true to differentiation - that’s the really hard part - especially with advisors, directors, investors et al chasing shiny new things or bored with durable, if unsexy, performance. Trick for the specialists. Double down, triple down on that - it reinforces differentiation and can seldom, if ever, be truly copied. Key to my preceding screed - elimination. That requires another “d’ word - discipline.
